I'll be the first to admit that yeah, our health care system is fucked up, is in need of help and has issues.

But some of the stuff in this video - made for kids - is just... absolute BS. For BOTH Canada and the US.

The worst part is, these idiots now are having their "videos" played in Florida schools.

Those poor kids are screwed.

(BTW, when my mom got her hysterectomy to try and deal with her ovarian cancer, she didn't wait months for it, she got it within days of it being suggested as part of her treatment)

Feb 2022 I had a CT of my lung for PEs 7 weeks post covid that turned up with not just PEs but a tumour the size of an egg on my thyroid. At ED they said theyve booked a biopsy and would hear back shortly.

They called six weeks ago to book me for the biopsy this July.

The booking person was stunned when I said I didnt need one because after no word at the beginning of last August. I went to my Dr who is linked with UofS. The next morning I had a biopsy booked with an ENT for in 2 weeks not because he was swamped but because the referral came on a Thursday before his 2 week holiday. 2 weeks after the biopsy I had the cancer removed.

Had I sat on my ass waiting and not pushed I'd have waited another 11 months after surgery just to get a biopsy.

ABsolutely. In Canada you need to advocate for yourself. I ran into that when I needed a hip replacement. The waiting was almost 2 years & I bugged & bugged everyone I knew who could help with emails, phone calls (including to my MLA) I still needed to wait but it was "only" 9 months rather than 1-1/2 to 2 years! I think someone finally said to get me off their backs & get 'er done cuz they were sick of hearing from me.

I understand now that the wait list has shrunk now but still, when one is in constant pain, you want relief & sitting back & complaining does absolutely nothing.
