Ivory Coast beat Democratic Republic of the Congo 1- 0 to advance to the final of Africa's Cup of Nations. 51.000 in attendance most wearing the jerseys of the home squad. Nigeria defeated South Africa on penalty kicks to move on to the final. Enthusiastic support is stating it mildly.

I guess the Big Five'll have a new crop of players next year. Or this year.

Notice the third place match takes place today with the final Sunday on the same day as the Superbowl. Nice to see somewhere there are people that don't give a dam about that. Could be that more people will be watching the Cup of Nations final. Differing time zones technically makes it possible to watch both.

I've said for a few years Africa would be a good place to expand 3 down football with many large cities in the same time zone. It wouldn't take much to set up a league.
